NC votes for mandatory ultrasounds to be conducted before an abortion can take place. The idea, clearly being, that once you see that baby shape inside of you, you will feel persuaded to keep the baby. There are a lot of things about this that upset me but the glaring one is that I feel like there are “little” laws being passed all over the place (in the south) that are eventually NOT going to be tiny but incredibly oppressive and I will wake up one day and all those tinies will be a big old scary piece of news that women no longer have the right to chose.
